Our Story
The Hanzlian Story
Hanzlian Sausage Inc. was founded in 1999 by two brothers, David & George Hanzlian. They outfitted the family garage into a processing room and used recipes from their father, who co-owned a meat market with his two brothers years earlier. They took their products in refrigerated trucks to sell at Farmer’s Markets throughout Western New York. A few years later, their brother Tom was brought in to help grow the company.
Over 100 Years in the Meat Industry
In 2006, they purchased 2351 Genesee Street and made it their new home, a brick and mortar store for customers to purchase their sausages all year round. This allowed them to hire more employees and sell at additional Farmer’s Market locations, while extending their customer base.
To meet the demand placed on the growing business, they purchased the building next door in 2017. The property was renovated into a state of the art production facility with the intention to expand the brand even further. In 2022, under the new ownership of David’s daughter, Kimberly Hanzlian, and with support from his nephew, Daniel Hanzlian, the company received its USDA certification, enabling them to sell their sausages to distributors and other retailers throughout the country.
Our Facility
Our USDA Certified Facility has state of the art equipment that allow our sausages to be made efficiently, yet still by the hands of our dedicated staff. This ensures all of our products are made to the highest standards, the same way they have been for over 4 generations. Keeping the flavors that our customers have grown to love- tasting just as good as when they were made in the Hanzlian family home almost 100 years ago.
